Tuukka is an organisational sociologist who completed his PhD at the Department of Social Policy & Intervention, University of Oxford, in 2009. He joined the Institute of Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2013, following four research-intensive years at Kyoto University and Green Templeton College, University of Oxford. At Goldsmiths, he directs the MA in Social Entrepreneurship programme while actively contributing to teaching and research at ICCE. Though originally from Finland, Tuukka spent nearly a decade studying and working in Japan, as well as a year as the lead guitarist for the US-based musical social enterprise Up With People. These experiences have inspired him to adopt a transnational orientation to thinking about our contemporary world, including phenomena around social entrepreneurship and innovation.
Stay tuned for a short interview with Tuukka about the course, his research on social innovation communities and the role of education in social entrepreneurship.
